New York Pizzeria in Houston

I ordered online for a pizza to pick up. I got a call saying they were out of a key ingredient on my pizza and since I couldn’t substitute anything, I was told the order would be void. It’s been almost 2 weeks now and I didn’t get any pizza, nor I didn’t get any refund. I went inside 5+ business days after the order was placed to inquire about the refund, my information was taken down for the manager to reach out and that never happened. No idea if the food is good because I never got to have any! But be weary about ordering online!

The pizza here is great! The cheese tastes authentic and the sauce is delicious and sweet. The crust is good for NY style pizza. Everything about the pizza screams authentic. The flavor is a step above the big name chains and the price is a little higher too but well worth it if you're looking for an authentic taste. I dined in. I did notice some puddles of grease on the pizza but that came from the cheese and the pepperoni. Nothing out of the ordinary. Easy to blot if you need to. I still ate it. I have yet to try the pasta.

The Italian Sandwich was so awesome. Very fresh meat and the flat bread made the sandwich taste great.

Walked in for a casual lunch and had a great experience. Employees were friendly, helpful, and provided excellent customer service. I went with a build your own slice.I ordered a specialty veggie slice. They were generous on the toppings. Presentation of toppings and distribution was inconsistent. However, it's easy to look past that aspect when you realize how big your slice is. The size of the pizza slice is a absolute hit, especially when compared to NYC pizza shops that I've visited. The crust is delicious. The toppings are too fresh, I'm my opinion. I would have liked my veggies a little more cooked and warmer. Haven't been to Russo's Downtown location since renovations were completed this summer, but I must say it has been vastly improved. What once was an afterthought has now become a vibrant, lunch hour destination. Decor and layout have been updated and the fresh, new look serves them well. Great place to grab a huge, crispy New York-style slice for only $6.50. Plenty of shaded, outdoor sidewalk seating as well. Favorites are the NY Village slice, with bell peppers, black olives, Canadian bacon, hamburger, Italian sausage, mushrooms, & pepperoni, and the Pesto Chicken slice, with chicken, feta cheese, garlic, & spinach.

Service was kind of lackluster but we weren't really expecting much and really only went here for the pizza, which was extremely good. Slightly more pricey pizza but the toppings are excellent and it was worth it in my opinion.

Delicious pizza! I ordered a slice with jalapeños, mozzarella, olives, spinach and pepperoni. The more toppings you add the more expensive it gets. It came out to be around 14.50 with a drink. It was a really decent size of slice of pizza. I recommend trying it great service nice location.

Good selection of pizza and we could build our own including vegan options. Nice beers on tap. Friendly helpful staff. Not sure about using garlic on every pizza.

Rich, textured chocolate cake that will make you feel like a king. The pizza is fresh, tasty and delicious but the dessert is just super delicious

First time here and the food was excellent! You can build your own pizza. I had the Mediterranean Salad and it came on a giant dinner plate piled high! It filled me up.

The Bianca is unbelievably delicious!! I travel to Houston a couple times a year, and this is on my "must have" list!!

Been here many times, better than average service. Fun atmosphere but can get crowded, food is always fresh and good to great, bring your appetite however as the portions here are on the larger side. Highly recommend this location whether it is Pizza, Salad,or Pasta with Meat, it is all very good.

Great Pizza & a lot of fun! There's a nice porch outside & I enjoyed eating outside to enjoy the cold weather.

Really good pizza but took 29 minutes to get it with only 4 tables occupied. Luckily we had nowhere to be.

Don't worry if it's busy, it is worth the wait. Looking forward to going back again. It has a nice atmosphere. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I liked to visit.

This place is right nearby where I work so I stopped there for a quick bite, their single giant slice is perfect for lunch/dinner. The pizza was nice and hot and fresh, loved the cheese and crust. They were pretty fast with my order too, will def be going back!

This is the one downtown by the Hyatt. It was my first time going there. The best way I can describe it is an "upscale" pizza place. True they have more than pizza. You can order it by the slice (which is pretty large and thin). I thought the prices were a little high compared to other places I've been both downtown and around Houston. The food was good (slice and a house salad) but I have had similar meals several dollars cheaper. It was really nice inside and my friend and I enjoyed our lunch.

The food was hot, but it took way longer than it needed to, for them to fix the order. They clearly didn’t have enough staff to cover all the responsibilities of this establishment. I parked in a 10 minute only parking spot only for them to tell me that the order wasn’t ready which slightly stressed me out. The place was clean I’ll give them that.

Great food. Took a little longer than expected, but food was worth the wait. I highly recommend the New York Calzone.

Why can’t every restaurant serve fresh salads like this place. The soup is also fresh and not over salted breaking with Texas traditions. If you haven’t tried the artichoke dip you should be arrested for taste bud abuse Apologies to my Italian mother in law but the pasta here is the best We ate after the lunch crowd had left and the staff was still joyful, the place was clean and the food great Again why can’t all restaurants do this Should add that I have eaten at other Russo’s Polk is by far the best

Pizza was good but soda machine was out of many flavors. Price is above average but not bad.

Barely average pizza slices that were grossly overpriced. Two plain slices with one topping and a soda was over $19.The justification was that they were large slices. Having come from New York, these were maybe slightly larger than average pizza slices, and 3x the cost.Not worth it.

While I was Downtown in Houston, TX I stopped by to get a slice of their New York-style pizza. It was ok, but it wasn't truly "New York" style at all...but it was good to say the least.

Thank goodness this pizza spot was open after 6pm. Seems like every thing downtown closes early as they must focus on local business traffic. That was good news for me as I really enjoyed the Biaca (sp?) slice. Beer was tasty but I forget the name. Mozzarella sticks were good and plentiful. Not very busy on a weeknight so you'll quickly get a table. Place was clean and service was friendly.

Pesto pasta is the best.

What incredible employees! We had a party of 25 who were staying at the Hyatt across the street for a tournament. Many others from the tournament were also there. We arrived at 815. Sign said they closed at 9...this crew took everyone's order who walked in after 9 pm and took care of them. Food was good but service was awesome.

When I say wow, I mean WOW! This pizza was AMAZING! By far the best pizza I have ever had. The ingredients were fresh and crisp the bread had a nice crisp and the toppings were plentiful. My husband and I loved this place. It's a bit pricey however it's worth every penny. 😍

Best pizza in Houston by far!!!! Giant slice combo is a perfect meal for any pizza lover who enjoys a great Caesar salad with their slice! Inspiration and desire for a slice came from watching the Bobby in the show Billions enjoy a classic NYC slice and Russo's didn't disappoint. Most certainly will be back for another Russo treat in the very near future. Fresh, hot, fast, and amazing

Food was bland, sauce was all runny, nothing about this place is enjoyable.

I just wanted a quick bite so I got one of their giant pizza slices. Glad I didn't pay for it since I'm on business travel. The slice was huge, thin, and had an entire tomato sliced on it. I could not pick up the slice to eat it like I enjoy doing. It was like 10 bucks.

Very good pizza and the salad was fresh. Great to have another place to eat at night because downtown has limited choices after lunch.
